The original merlin weldment was made of steel coated with black zinc.   This weldment takes a beating in the game.  The black zinc coating eventually comes off and the steel begins to rust.  So I decided to use stainless steel.   Stainless is stronger and so less likely to bend but also never has a rust issue.   The results are very nice !!

Cost is $ 50.00 each.  These should last a lifetime.  Certainly nicer then the originals !!
